I’ve been a big benelli fan, and have several because they seem to fit me well. They are all semi autos. I know fit is everything, so that will play a huge role. I own a Benelli SBE 2, 2 Beretta Teknys 391 Gold Targets and a Beretta 303. Have owned Benelli Supersport and a couple of Beretta Urika 2 391's. My preference is I like the inertia Benelli system for hunting and I like the Beretta gas guns for competition. As far as the Benelli being a faster action it's a falsity or marketing hype from Benelli. Besides the cycle time between auto loaders is so short. You'll never notice it in the real world.
